BDÜ Weiterbildungs- und Fachverlagsgesellschaft mbH was founded to further expand the services of BDÜ in the areas of seminars and expert conferences as well as publications and advertising.
It builds bridges for interpreters and translators, spans the gap between training and profession, between theory and practice, and between language professionals and potential clients and employers.
Books on theoretical and practical topics appear in the BDÜ's series of specialist publications. You can easily order these books online. Our broad portfolio of publications includes a wide range of works ranging from specialist literature, legal and administrative terminology as well as guides for entrepreneurs.
We offer BDÜ members the option to advertise their services specific to their specialty in special member directories such as the “List of Less Commonly Used Languages”, the “Medicine, pharmaceutics and medical technology list”, the “Economics and finance list” or the “Technical documentation list”.
Lifelong learning is crucial for translators and interpreters to always remain up-to-date – technologically, professionally, linguistically and also in terms of entrepreneurship.
With its international seminars, BDÜ Weiterbildungs- und Fachverlagsgesellschaft mbH offers a multifaceted addition to the professional development events offered by the regional chapters. This includes courses on technical tools, linguistic and specialist training as well as professional development events on entrepreneurial skills. Our multi-day training seminars abroad – such as in England and Spain – also include practice-oriented excursions and company tours.
In addition to the regularly held seminars, we organize conferences from time to time, such as the international “Interpreting the Future” conferences held in Berlin in 2009 and 2012, each with over 1,000 participants, or the “5. Deutsche Gerichtsdolmetschertag (5th German Interpreters Day)” with some 300 participants in Hannover in 2011.
These high-level conferences provide a platform for exchange both within Germany and internationally. They facilitate networking among language professionals and provide new impulses for professional success and shaping of the profession of the future.
